Providing care for a loved one suffering from dementia can be difficult yet rewarding. Many caregivers' express frustration from the behavioral symptoms exhibited from their loved ones. Sometimes these behaviors can be redirected through activities or prevented through regular daily activities. Imagine living a life day in and out without in the house with not much to do. Would you become bored? Frustrated? Angry? As a past Activity Coordinator, I've seen so many benefits from incorporating activities in one's daily routine. It made me feel good to see the residents happy especially during Bingo time. Here are a few possible benefits of incorporating activities:
Provides Exercise
Reduce Behavioral Symptoms
Keep Busy
Stimulation
Provides Enjoyment
Improve Sleep
