September is designated as World Alzheimer's Month. I would like to take the time to honor my grandmother, Fannie Fondren who passed a few years ago with Alzheimer's disease. It was disappointing for me to see her not have the best quality of life during the disease especially after she helped others. After her death, I made a promise to do my best and help those who suffer from dementia receive good care and have a good quality of life. I miss my grandmother so much.
Take some time on this month to put a smile on the face of someone's face who is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Next, attend a dementia education or learn about Alzheimer's disease. You never know when or if it may hit your doorstep.
